VINEYARD
The fruit was sourced from De Bortoli’s own Freemans bridge Vineyard positioned in the ancient red Cambrian soils of the Northern Heathcote region.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS
The season started with regular rain during spring following a dry winter and with warm temperatures the vine growth was strong. Warmer temperatures during summer put a strain on the vines but with careful monitoring and irrigation we were able to produce a slightly reduced crop and berry size which enabled good varietal flavour and concentration to be achieved.
WINEMAKING
Full bodied dry red to be relished with a Roast, grilled steak and eggplant or slow cooked lamb.
